Etamsylate is a synthetic haemostatic agent that supports primary haemostasis by improving platelet adhesion and strengthening capillary endothelial stability. At the physiological level, it enhances platelet plug formation by promoting platelet interaction with damaged vascular endothelium while also reducing capillary permeability, thereby limiting blood leakage from microvasculature. It is also believed to inhibit prostaglandin pathways that promote platelet disaggregation, helping restore normal clot initiation processes without affecting the coagulation cascade.
